If you wake up in the morning, make yourself a cup of tea, eat a banana, and then start in on a bag of chips….does that signal a problem?
If so, then I must have a problem…
…because it’s before 10AM and I’ve just had all the calories and sodium required for an entire day. Oops! At least they were baked.
This past week has been all work and no play. I thought about sending Buster to work in my place one day. Although he can totally rock a briefcase, he’s hasn’t learned how to do my job. He’d just lay around on the desk and waste time. With those skills, maybe he could work for the federal government. 🙂
A person only has so much energy and brain power to give in a week and when it’s all spent….bad choices can start to set in (like chips for breakfast).
Usually, I feel pretty fabulous. But this week, not so much. If you get this way too…if you sometimes feel like the world is closing in on you…like you’re only a shadow of yourself…
1. Be realistic about your capacity for “super-human-ness.”
2. Realize that it’s better to do fewer things right that everything wrong.
3. Prioritize your time, including your own personal needs. Never put yourself last on the list. It’s not about being selfish. It’s about giving yourself what you need to be the best version of yourself, so that when you give to your family…your job…your friends…you are giving them the fabulous you.
I’m heading out for a walk…to work off a bag of chips. Whooo Ah!
Do often feel pressed for time? How do you deal with it?

There are many days when I feel like there isnt enough time to get it all done. I try to set time aside for myself every week, but sometimes it does seem selfish. You’re right that it’s not about that. I can’t help others well unless I help myself first. That reminds me – it’s time for a visit to the spa! Buster does rock that bag, BTW.

I love the shadow on the asphalt pic – it has a Mary Poppins quality about it. 🙂

Truer words were never spoken (or written, as the case may be 🙂 ). I, too, have a problem with balance, and it usually manifests itself in potato chip breakfasts. Or ice cream dinners. Enjoy the walk – I did the same thing today.

Oh, I’ve had more chip breakfasts than I care to admit. I like BBQ, but my fave is salt & vinegar. It’s pretty bad if “salt” is actually in the name of the snack, huh?
Here’s to putting ourselves on the priority list. Yea!
p.s. Buster is adorable. I want to pinch is cheeks.

First, I have to say that I LOVE your coffee mug….”Dancing Queen.” That’s faaaaaabulous!
Second, Buster is ADORABLE. OMG, what a cute face he has. I looooove cats!
Third, I so what you mean about feeling pressured at times and not always taking care of ourselves. This happens to me during the Christmas season in retail. For the two weeks prior to Christmas, I’m usually working 9-10 hours a day without having a break, so I’m eating nothing but candy, cookies, and drinking LOTS of coffee to stay awake.
I’m usually okay with this because I know it’s only temporary and that I’ll get back to my ‘being good to myself’ as soon as it’s over.
Great pictures, Tracy!

Are you kidding me?! Chips are the breakfast of champions! (I’m big on having chocolate cake for breakfast however…so I might be a little biased). You’re jab at the federal government made me LOL. Personally, I think your beautiful kitty cat could do a better job than the folks currently in charge…;)
Being a university student approaching the end of term, I’m majorly pressed on time. Also, being the sensitive, dramatic, slightly crazy woman that I am…I am prone to melt downs. However, I find that long walks help out.

Love the mug! I want one too, b/c I’m a Dancing Queen (young and sweet, only 17!) Let’s see…when I’m busy-stressed, I try to exercise. If I don’t, I am pure EVIL!

Some days we must break all the rules…I love eating weird things for breakfast, especially cake, oh yeas! And I’ll bet your entire day was great because it started out unusually good…love bbq chips!
